While we were waiting for Power Grid and Troy to arrive, Jim explained RA to the group and we decided to play. RA is usually less than an hour even when new folks are learning the game. All the new players thought it was a good game. Final standings were JimG, Denise, Kieron, JeffL.

The featured game of the night was Power Grid. DaveF brought the game over but was unable to stay. Thanks Dave! Sorry you couldn't stay. Everyone but Jeff had played at least once. Denise had played several 2 and 3 player games recently. She did much of the set up having the most recent experience. Jeff was chosen as the first player and quickly learned that being first in this game is not always the best place to be, especially early in the game. We played the US map and blocked the northeast section for this game. Kieron and Jim started their networks in the southeast and south central while Denise, Jeff and Troy started in the central US along the edge where connection fees increase significantly. The game lasted about 2.5 hours. The group stayed bunched together on number of cities for most of the game. In a 5 player game, 15 cities triggers the end game. Troy, Denise and Jim built to 15 cities on the same turn and had purchased enough power plants to power them all. Denise was the cash leader and won the tie breaker.

Final standings were Denise, JimG, Troy, Kieron, JeffL
