Game Night North v2009.03

Jan 17th, 2009
Host: Jim
Guests: DanD, TimF, Jill

Tim was back in Indy over the weekend and wanted to get in an afternoon of epic gaming. :) Dan wasn't able to make it to the game night earlier in the week but was free and he came over for a big ol' game of TtA. Tim will be working in Germany on or after the 21st of January.

Through the Ages

Jim's Summary

This is one of those monster games best played on a Saturday afternoon. Tim taught the game and we played the Advanced game. We started about 2:30-3 and it took us 3-4 hours to play. The Advanced game ends after the 2nd Age and excludes wars. The Full game would include the 3rd Age and the wars, adding another hour or more. Yes, it's long but the time flies and would enjoy more plays ... but only as a 2 or 3 player game. More than that and there is too much down time. [Wow - even JIM cares about downtime. Now I've seen everything. -km]

24/7

Tim, Jim, Jill

Jim's Summary

While waiting for Tim's wife (Traci) and her sister (Cindy) to pick up Tim, Jill and I taught Tim how to play 24/7. This is a tile laying game where you try to create scoring combinations of adjacent tiles - sums of 24 and 2, sets (3 and 4 of a kind) and runs (3, 4, 5 or 6 tile straight). Tim had the right tiles at the right time and ran up a sizable score to win.
