GTF Aerodrome Campaign

I introduced the game of Aerodrome to GTF last year at GTF 2006. Aerodrome is a World War I Aerial Combat game played in three dimensional space. It takes all of 10 minutes to figure out how to play the game. Pilots make decisions on what to do and live with the results, there is very little reliance on dice in this game. The game is more of a miniatures war game then a board game. Award cards are given out for certain feats and acts of valor during the game (See GTF Campaign Awards below). Pilots will accumulate stats each time they play that will add to their fame (GTF bragging rights, see GTF Campaign Stats below) and allow them to get additional special abilities as they climb threw the GTF Aerodrome Military Rank system (See Aerodrome Ranks & Abilities below). There will aslo be annual GTF awards given to the best pilot & the pilot who was shot down the most over the weekend each year (see GTF Awards below). As I feel that the game was well received I will probably bring it again and leave it set up in the cabin I am staying in for anyone to go over and play when they want to. It normally takes 1 hour to run a mission. A session is normally defined as a 3 hour time block. Up to 12 people can play at a time, the more the merrier as it makes it a much more target rich environment when there are a lot of people flying. There are various types of missions that can be flown, dogfight, balloon busting, recon, trench straffing, bombing runs, etc. There will be blank score sheets and mission instruction sheets left at the table for people to fill out and turn in as they play so there stats can be tracked and added to the GTF Campaign stats.

Scoring System

5 pilot points = Aerial Kill (Plane or Balloon)
1 pilot point = Bonus Point or Assist point for loosing a roll off on a aerial kill
8 damage points = 1 pilot point
-3 pilot points = You are shot down

Pilot Rating = total pilot points/missions flown
Average Damage = Total Damage Inflicted/missions flown
