GTF Event

From GTF

GTF is an annual event devoted to game playing. The idea for GTF originated in the Fall of 1999 with a group of friends that enjoyed getting together on Saturday nights to play a wide variety of games (generally with an element of strategy involved).

Originally, GTF was called GeekTuckFest, or a bunch GEEKS gathering in kenTUCKy for a gaming FESTival! Now it is simply called GTF.

The brain child of JeffC, the location was chosen so as to be half way between South Carolina (Jeff’s home) and Indianapolis. The six guys who went to GTF ’00 dubbed it a roaring success, and it was quickly decided to make it an annual event.

We've added an extra day and a lot more people but we've always gone back to the same park in February. It's a nice location and the facilities have worked well for our event.

To date we have held 7 of these events:

GTF 2000 - 6 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2001 - 11 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2002 - 12 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2003 - 11 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2004 - 14 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2005 - 20 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2006 - 24 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2007 - 19 Attendees Session Report
GTF 2008 - ?? Attendees Session Report

During the rest of the year, various individuals have held game nights at their houses. In 2005, a few of us decided to organize a regular game night to play some of the more involved games that typically only hit the table at GTF. We're calling it Game Night North. The irregular game night is called Game Night East.
